Since 2003, in an effort to implement clean energy, Pearl Jam has mitigated their tour-related carbon dioxide output by self-imposing a voluntary ‘carbon tax,’ and allocating a portion of tour profits to organizations working on reforestation efforts and fighting climate change. But there’s still more work to be done. Multiple strategies are needed in order to effectively reduce carbon pollution. Through The Alliance for Jobs and Clean Energy’s policy proposal, Washington state can become a climate leader by transitioning to a clean energy economy.
